Please try the solutions and follow the steps below to see if you can get Wokyis M5’s screen working properly.

Solution #1: press the rainbow button shown in the image below to switch on/off of the screen.

Solution #2: if the Solution #1 does not resolve the issue, please try the following steps.

1. Make sure that you connect the Host port on the rear of Wokyis M5 to the Thunderbolt port on the rear of Mac mini M4/M4 Pro by the 18mm 10Gbps USB-C to USB-C cable shown in the image below

2. Connect the 5V/3A port on the rear of Wokyis M5 to any USB-C wall charger with power consumption like 20W, 30W, 45W, 60W, 100W or 120W.

3. If you tried step 1 to 2, but the screen is still not working properly, please check if the USB ports and M.2 NVMe SSD on the Wokyis M5 are functioning or not.

4. If you tried step 1 to 3, all ports are working properly, please try to connect the Wokyis M5 to Mac mini M4/M4 Pro with the 100mm 10Gbps USB3.2 Gen2 Cable shown in the image below.

Solution #3: check if the Wokyis is shown in the Display settings (macOS or Windows):

Solution #4: check if the Wokyis M5 is detected under the USB Device Tree in System Information.

1. How to check USB device in macOS: Launchpad > System Information > Hardware > USB. If it shows RTL9210 under the USB Device Tree, it means the Wokyis M5 is detected.

2. How to check USB device in Windows OS: Computer Management > Device Manager > USB Connector Managers

Solution #5

If the screen of wokyis M5 shows the image as below, it means the display need to reset.

Please try to change the display settings in by step 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Same issues as Oliver – wokyis nvme shows up but USB RTL9210 does not, and wokyis does not show in display prefs. Rainbow button pushed or held does nothing. Screen is blank with regular dim light flickering.

I followed all the steps, but my screen still stays black with a white flicker/flash every 0.5 seconds or so. What can I do now?
